Business Transitions

Buying, selling, or retiring from a business? Make sure its systems survive the handoff.

We review a business's software before the deal closes — who controls the accounts, what is unsupported, what only one person knows how to run. Then we move it off QuickBooks Desktop, Access databases, and aging custom systems onto something the next owner can run.

Questions Businesses Ask Us First

Straight answers on cost, timelines, ownership, and what happens after launch.

How much does a new website cost?

It depends on scope. A focused marketing site for a local business is a different project from a customer portal or a booking system with payments. We scope every project against what it needs to do, give you a fixed price before any work starts, and bill in milestones rather than asking for the whole amount up front. If a smaller first phase would get you most of the value, we will tell you that.

How long does a project take?

A straightforward marketing site typically runs four to six weeks from kickoff to launch. Web applications with user accounts, payments, or third-party integrations usually run eight to sixteen weeks. The single biggest factor is how quickly content and feedback come back from your side, so we agree a review schedule at kickoff and hold to it.

Do you work with businesses outside Southern California?

We do, and the work is entirely remote-friendly. But our focus is Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley, the Inland Empire, and Orange County, because being in the same time zone as our clients makes a real difference to how fast a project moves, and because we can meet in person when a project warrants it.

Do you take over websites that someone else built?

Often. We start with a technical review of what exists so you get an honest picture of the code, hosting, performance, and security before committing to anything. Sometimes the right answer is to fix and modernise what you already have rather than rebuild it, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a rebuild you do not need.

Who owns the website when the project is finished?

You do. You own the code, the content, the domain, and the hosting account. Nothing is locked to us, and we will hand over repository access and credentials on request at any time. If you decide to move to another developer, everything they need to pick the project up goes with you.

What happens after the site launches?

Every project includes post-launch support, and we offer ongoing maintenance covering security updates, dependency upgrades, backups, uptime monitoring, and small content changes. Sites that are left unmaintained are where most security incidents start, so we treat this as part of the job rather than an upsell.
